Define the work and the finished result

It lists organics drop-off at the Materials Recovery Facility through October 31, Monday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The facility sits across East 56th Avenue from the Central Transfer Station. Separate branches, yard clippings and mixed waste

SWS lists yard clippings and natural wood debris among the materials it accepts at the Materials Recovery Facility. It excludes decking, lumber and construction material from its natural-wood guidance. Keep old fence boards and other yard junk separate from leaves and branches until you agree on their disposal route. [1]

Tell the contractor if you want vegetation cleared rather than routine fallen debris collected. SWS says the Central Transfer Station does not accept land-clearing waste. Its disposal page also limits commercial waste acceptance to the Anchorage Regional Landfill and Central Transfer Station. Compare the full quote and disposal charges

Request a total for the same tasks from each contractor. Ask them to identify labor, loading, transport and facility charges, along with any limit on debris volume or trips. For an hourly offer, confirm whether the rate covers one worker or the crew, how they record time and whether you can agree on a spending limit.

Municipal disposal charges do not establish a contractor's cleanup price. SWS lists $20 per load described as 5x8x3 at the central wood lot. Walk the property with the crew before work starts. Point out fragile plants, irrigation components, objects hidden in vegetation and areas outside the scope. Agree where workers can park and stage debris. Move vehicles or furniture that block the route, unlock gates and tell the crew which paths to use.

Before settling the bill, compare the finished yard with your written scope. Check the agreed beds and paths, confirm removal of the named piles and discuss anything left behind. Request disposal receipts if you agreed to reimburse facility charges. Keep the quote, photographs and final invoice together.
